LAS VEGAS, NV, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Rainmaker Worldwide Inc. (OTC: RAKR) (“Rainmaker” or the “Company”), a global provider of sustainable water technology solutions, today announced progress in adapting the SmartCell™ intelligent control and optimization platform for industrial wastewater treatment applications.

The advancement follows the successful completion of an industrial wastewater treatment pilot at Kawartha Ethanol's facility in Havelock, Ontario, Canada, conducted by Miranda Water Technologies (“Miranda”), in which Rainmaker holds a partial ownership interest. Using Miranda's MC200 Miracell® Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) system, the pilot achieved greater than 98% removal of targeted contaminants under the tested operating conditions.

Following these results, Kawartha Ethanol has agreed to purchase the MC200 Miracell® RBC system and additional Miranda treatment technologies. The final treatment solution will also incorporate an industrial version of the SmartCell™ platform, providing an initial application for its expanded capabilities.

Advancing SmartCell™ for Industrial Applications

SmartCell™ is Miranda's intelligent control and optimization platform, designed to support the monitoring and management of water and wastewater treatment processes. Its adaptation for industrial applications addresses the more complex operating requirements of industrial wastewater treatment.

Throughout the Kawartha Ethanol pilot, Miranda's engineering teams in Canada and Türkiye evaluated performance data and established operating parameters for the industrial version of SmartCell™ based on the facility's wastewater characteristics and production conditions.

The platform is designed to provide centralized process control, performance monitoring, and operational data collection, allowing treatment processes to be evaluated and optimized as operating conditions change.

By integrating SmartCell™ with biological treatment and advanced filtration technologies, Miranda aims to support the management of complex industrial wastewater streams.

Expanding Commercial Opportunities Through Rainmaker's Distribution Network

The adaptation of SmartCell™ for industrial wastewater treatment supports Rainmaker's strategy to expand the applications of its water technology portfolio.

Through its U.S. exclusive distribution rights for Miranda's technologies, Rainmaker is positioned to introduce SmartCell™ and complementary wastewater treatment solutions to industrial customers and project partners across its distribution network.

The Kawartha Ethanol project marks Miranda's first deployment of Miracell® RBC technology in the industrial wastewater treatment market in North America, providing valuable operating experience and performance data to support further technology development and commercial applications.

“Expanding SmartCell™ into industrial wastewater treatment represents an important step in broadening the applications of our technology portfolio,” said Michael Skinner, Director and President of Rainmaker Worldwide Inc. “The results at Kawartha Ethanol provide a strong foundation for further development, while Rainmaker's established distribution network creates opportunities to bring these capabilities to industrial customers in new markets.”
